What is Strategram? Strategram is a game of strategy. Strategram is a two-person board game. Strategram is a game of perfect information where the players are always aware of their current position and the sequence of moves that preceded this position. In Strategram, the ultimate decision a player makes is choosing the next move. Objective: Swap places with your opponent. Assemble your entire configuration in exactly the same formation in which it began the game - King surrounded by Pawns. Players: Two players. Each player may be a human competitor or a computerized opponent. Several different skill levels are available via the Who Plays command under the Actions menu. Board: 8 x 8 latticed board. Pieces: Each player has a total of nine pieces consisting of eight Pawns and one King. These pieces never leave the field of play. Movement: All pieces move in the same manner. The allowed moves are: A single, lateral step to an empty adjoining cell in either a row or a column: A lateral jump over another piece to an empty cell in either a row or a column: Multiple lateral jumps are allowed only if each jump component is legal and only if they are continually linked: A combination of a single step with a jump is not allowed. A diagonal single step or jump is not allowed. A move can not end on an occupied cell, nor can it begin from an empty cell. - Choose Interactive Tutorial from the Mentor menu for further details.
